Call for art for ‘The Macabre’: The Light’s next Arts Illuminated showcase

🤡 Calling South Coast artists! We at The New Bedford Light dare you to submit your art for our next Arts Illuminated live showcase, themed “The Macabre.” 💀

🎃 It’s an opportunity to shine a light on the dark side 🌒 of your works in all mediums, from traditional to digital to paintings to sculptures.   The free, one-night event will be held Thursday, Oct. 23, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Steeple Playhouse in New Bedford.

🧙‍♀️ It features live interviews by local artist Devin “Nived” McLaughlin with selected artists and exhibits of their work.  Open to fellow artists, art enthusiasts and potential buyers, who may purchase directly from artists.

🧛‍♂️ Submission deadline:  Thursday, Oct. 2.  Get the details on how to submit and send in images of your work via this online form.

👻 Get in the spirit:  With Halloween hovering ahead, we invite everyone — artists and attendees — to dress in your spookiest 👿 🥷 👺 for the occasion.

Following the show, mingle with artists, audience, buyers and Light staff during our “Afterglow.” Refreshments served.
