Boating Safety Course

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 65 offers a fall Boat America safety course from September 15 through September 25, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Acushnet River Safe Boating Club in Fairhaven.

The eight-hour course runs four evenings, on Mondays and Thursdays.

Instructors are experienced Auxiliary members with local waterway knowledge. The course covers boating law, safety equipment, navigation, emergencies, trailering, terminology, and water sports etiquette.

Successful participants earn the certificate required under the Hanson‑Milone Act.

The fee of $25 includes the textbook and materials. Space is limited. Early online registration is recommended.
