Big Night, Bright Lights: The Z’s Grand Reopening

The Zeiterion Performing Arts Center celebrates its grand reopening with a special evening of music, dance, and theater on Saturday, Jan. 17. Two shows are scheduled at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets range from $39 to $99, plus fees.
Emmy Award-winning comedian Dulcé Sloan hosts the celebration. The 65-member New Bedford Symphony Orchestra sets the backdrop for a program featuring spoken word artist Hendrick Hernandez-Resto, who premieres an original piece with the orchestra. Baritone Philip Lima, Broadway performers Erin and Matt Ban, Abby Casey, and Brooklyn Toli, and gender-expansive ballroom dancers Michael Winward and Holly Stone add to the evening’s lineup.
The homecoming event also marks a first-time collaboration between the Zeiterion, New Bedford Festival Theatre, and the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra. It honors the theater’s renovation and its role as a gathering place for creativity and community.
