Author book talk: Jen Rose Smith

The New Bedford Whaling Museum will host a virtual author talk with Jen Rose Smith on Thursday, Nov. 19, from noon to 1 p.m.
Smith is an Alaska Native geographer and assistant professor at the University of Washington. He will discuss her book, Ice Geographies: The Colonial Politics of Race and Indigeneity in the Arctic. The presentation focuses on climate change, Indigenous communities, and the connections between ice, race, and colonialism.
The program is free, but registration is required.
