April Is For The Birds Exhibit

April 4 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Westport Free Public Library will display paintings by two bird-loving artists throughout April.

Barry Van Dusen will display ten paintings from his recently released book, Finding Sanctuary. This book combines art and text to tell stories about Mass Audubon’s Sanctuaries.

Pamela Lowell will have a collection of illustrations from her brand-new book (My Summer with Osprey) about observing ospreys, our local icon bird species, in the Westport River last summer.

Aside from the art exhibits, there will be presentations each Thursday evening in April.

  • April 4: David Cole, Steven Reinert, and Jamie Bogart on past birders and bird records
  • April 11: Three local success stories, by Alan Poole on Osprey, Fred Thurber on Bobolinks, and Gina Purtell on Shorebirds
  • April 18 and 25:  Talks by Barry Van Dusen and Pamela Lowell about their books
