Downtown New Bedford gets a head start on the holidays Thursday, Nov. 12, at AHA! Night: Made in NB. Find local artists, handmade treasures, and live entertainment.
Nearly 50 local artists and makers will show off their stuff at the Star Store, with more artisan markets at Gallery X and the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center.
New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park will celebrate its 30th anniversary with activities, cake, and traditional Iñupiat dancing. Visitors can also tour the historic Nathan and Polly Johnson House, where Frederick Douglass found refuge after escaping slavery.
Other highlights include live music, art demonstrations, crafts, a walking tour, and the Z Jazz Jam. Karaoke and local musicians keep the festivities going after dark.
Admission and parking at the Elm Street and Zeiterion garages are free.
