AHA! Night: I AM NB Storytelling Series Part II

The second installment of the I AM NB: storytelling series is on Thursday, March 12, from 3 to 10 p.m. in downtown New Bedford. Highlights include personal stories through art, music, and spoken word, with several events recognizing Women’s History Month.
- Gallery X hosts “I Am New Bedford Journeys” from 6 to 8 p.m., a program curated by the New Bedford Historical Society that highlights the contributions of women and girls of color.
- The New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center shares stories from its Herstory Oral History Project, featuring women connected to the local fishing industry from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
- The New Bedford Whaling Museum offers free admission from 4 to 7 p.m. for Women Who Map the World, with family activities and poetry by local writers.
- An open mic with musical accompaniment from Blair Taylor and Manny Escobar takes place in the Zeiterion’s Speakeasy from 6 to 8 p.m.
- Author Ieva Jusionyte discusses her book Exit Wounds: How America’s Guns Fuel Violence Across the Border at the First Unitarian Church from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a Q&A and book signing.
Additional activities include youth crafts, storytelling, and announcements for the film festival. Admission is free.
