Community Vigil for Fogo, Cabo Verde

A community vigil will honor those affected by the tragedy on Fogo, Cabo Verde, on Friday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 47 S. Sixth St., New Bedford.
Organizers ask attendees to wear white and bring a white candle.
Those attending should bring a chair and plan for the weather. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Padre Pio Gottin Charities is also collecting funds for individuals and families. Donations may be made through Venmo at @PadrePioGottin-CharitiesInc, by cash or check to a member of the organization, or by mailing a check to Padre Pio Gottin Charities, P.O. Box 7094, Brockton, MA 02302.
