Annual Memorial Day Boat and Kayak Race

Rochester will hold its annual Memorial Day Boat and Kayak Race on Monday, May 25, along the Mattapoisett River. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. at Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir on Snipatuit Road and ends at the Mattapoisett Herring Weir.
Hosted by the Rochester Fire Department, the longtime Memorial Day tradition features homemade river-racing boats, kayak racers, and multiple divisions for adults, juniors, and families. Trophies will be awarded to top finishers in each category.
