New Bedford City Finance Committee meeting

The New Bedford City Council Finance Committee will meet Monday, March 16, 2026, at 7 p.m. in Room 214 at City Hall.

Agenda items include:

• A discussion on lowering the age for certain senior property tax exemptions from age 70 to 65.
• A proposed $12.6 million loan order for repairs and upgrades to city buildings and infrastructure, and an update to the city’s fund balance management policy.
• The committee will also review several transfers from free cash to support cable access, public infrastructure services, waste collection, tourism, parks and recreation, information technology, and the city auditor’s office.
