Mwalim DaPhunkee Professor performs an intimate Blues and Soul set on Saturday, March 7, at 6 p.m. at Ying Dynasty in Mattapoisett.
Mwalim sings and plays guitar. The ZYG 808 joins the percussion. The show highlights storytelling shaped by Blues and Soul traditions.
Mwalim is a veteran songwriter known for work with The GroovaLottos and projects including WAMPTRONICA and Chops Turner. He also founded Polyphonic Studios, a recording space for regional artists.
His 2024 album THUNDERCHILD includes songs such as “A Party at the Crossroads,” “A Sweet Memory,” and “Always Right There.”
