Navy Day at the New Bedford Whaling Museum

Navy Day is on Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Whaling Museum. The event is presented with Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport. Activities highlight the Navy’s work in marine research, environmental care, and marine mammal protection. Programs also connect to the museum’s maritime history.
Visitors can speak with NUWC scientists and learn about underwater research. Exhibits highlight whale ecology and feature whale skeletons.
The day also includes access to the world’s largest ship model. A scavenger hunt is available for participants. Screenings of 3D films take place in the Cook Memorial Theater. Additional interactive programs are offered throughout the event.
Admission is free for valid Department of Defense ID card holders, veterans, and their families.
