The Chat: The story behind the story of the new Zeiterion

The opening night curtain rose on a restored Zeiterion Theatre, introducing new education and performance spaces and debuting the Speakeasy with live jazz. The $37 million renovation marked a major milestone for the downtown New Bedford venue.
How the project came together will be the focus of The Chat on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 10:30 a.m. Zeiterion President and CEO Rosemary Gill and Board Chair Frank Almeida will join leaders from New Bedford Festival Theatre and the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra for an hourlong conversation with New Bedford Light columnist Jack Spillane.
The discussion will examine the financing, partnerships, and future plans for the city’s primary performing arts center.
