Ancestry Library Edition — Immigrations Records Collection

A free instructional session on Ancestry Library Edition is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 3, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the New Bedford Free Public Library. The program is held in the CreateLab on the second floor of the Main Library.
MaryEllen Cecil, special collections library assistant, guides participants through immigration records using Ancestry Library Edition. The session offers a clear introduction to the database, along with practical search tips to help uncover family stories and historical connections. Ancestry Library Edition is the world’s largest online family history resource and is available for in-library use at New Bedford libraries.
More sessions are on the way. Upcoming topics include Military Records Collection on Feb. 21 and Irish Records Collection on March 14.
No registration is required. For more information, contact the Special Collections Department at 508-991-6276 or nbhistory@sailsinc.org.
