Postponed: The Chat: Tackling the threat of food insecurity on the South Coast

Update: We’re sorry, but we must postpone this chat due to unexpected circumstances. We will reschedule in early January and publish the new date and time.
The federal government shutdown over SNAP benefits is over. But the threat to thousands of South Coast residents who are food insecure is not.
The Big Beautiful Bill over the next year aims to shut out non-citizens and those between 55 and 64 who don’t work from receiving SNAP benefits.
Leaders of area food distribution programs will discuss the issue with Light columnist Jack Spillane on The Chat on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m.
Join Michelle Hantman and Victoria Grasela of the United Way Greater New Bedford’s Hunger Commission, Charlie Murphy of M.O.L.I.F.E. and Liz Wiley of the Marion Institute talk about what’s going on on the ground.
