An Author Talk: “Blue Collars” by Catherine McLaughlin

Author Catherine McLaughlin will discuss her novel “Blue Collars,” set in New Bedford’s South End from the 1950s to the 1970s.
The story follows Fiona “Finn” Kilroy and her Irish American family navigating life in a working-class neighborhood where diverse families live in the shadow of the mills. It explores love, hardship, and resilience.
McLaughlin, a poet and artist, taught English and writing for 40 years at UMass Dartmouth and Framingham State University. She also designed the book’s cover.
