New Bedford Lyceum with Bill McKibben

Author, educator, and activist Bill McKibben has spent decades turning climate science into action. In his keynote, “Solar, Society, and the Shifting Climate,” he discusses solar energy, climate justice, and the power of community. He blends data, stories, and hope to offer both insight and direction.
The keynote concludes a two-day climate program at the Whaling Museum. It follows the Climate Future Film Festival on Friday, October 24. McKibben appears in the film program as an honorary judge before speaking in person the following evening. Film tickets are sold separately.
McKibben has written 15 books, including “The End of Nature” and “Here Comes the Sun.” He founded 350.org and Third Act, two global movements for climate and civic engagement. His honors include the Right Livelihood Prize, the Gandhi Prize, and multiple honorary degrees.
Premium ticket holders receive a signed copy of “Here Comes the Sun: A Last Chance for the Climate and a Fresh Chance for Civilization.” Tickets range from $15 to $75.
