School Committee Candidate Forum

The New Bedford Educators Association will host a public forum for the four candidates vying for three seats on the New Bedford School Committee. The event is on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Keith Middle School auditorium.

This marks the city’s first contested School Committee race since 2019. Association President Thomas Nickerson said the event aims to help voters make informed decisions. The NBEA does not endorse candidates, but will provide residents with the opportunity to hear directly from those running.
Candidates will answer questions from a panel of NBEA members and close the evening with brief remarks about their priorities for the district.

The New Bedford Educators Association represents about 1,400 educators, including teachers, assistant principals, school counselors, and nurses. It is affiliated with the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the National Education Association.
