Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The South Coast Rail project is still in the works, but construction is mostly complete on the new tracks and stations. The New Bedford Light sent a drone over the new MBTA station near downtown New Bedford to get a glimpse of what’s in store.

I’ve been waiting for this MAJOR event since they stopped the regular buses that went direct to downtown New Bedford. It’ll be such a pleasure to ride the friendly tracks on the commuter rail. I can’t wait!!!
I’m disappointed that the train service is not already available. What’s the current hold up? When does service start?
Thanks you,
David
It’s about Time.
30+ years in the making!
What’s the delay now?
One suggestion to consider….
The train will provide transportation to Boston AND to New Bedford!
New Bedford residents will be commuting both ways. Also, New Bedford has many interesting sites and events of its own to visit!! (Too many to list!)
If you could address the print in the video & add “to Boston & New Bedford”
it would be a more accurate description of this new service!
After all, it is a “two-way track”! Thank you!
Yep, it’s only going to bring more crime into the city not to mention undesirables into an already astronomical rents area which will only go higher. Look at how many nice areas said no to the T years ago. New Bedford needs to fix the city, not just the downtown area. They don’t need more problems which is what the T will bring. Not to mention the poor people whose neighborhoods will be ruined by the traffic noise and crime. But then of course it is a Democratic run city. It’s just going to be like any other BLUE CITY.
I hope your stomach is churning in revulsion.
