New Bedford and Fall River ballot forums
SouthCoast community organizations will host two nonpartisan forums this fall to explain Massachusetts statewide ballot questions and what a yes or no vote means for each measure.
A New Bedford forum will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Keith Middle School Community Room, 225 Hathaway Blvd. A Fall River forum is scheduled Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. , at Good Shepherd Parish Hall, 1598 South Main St.
Participants will learn simple explanations of each ballot question, discussion, straw polls, and voter education materials.
Hosts include the Coalition for Social Justice Education Fund, League of Women Voters SouthCoast, NAACP New Bedford Branch, United Interfaith Action, and YWCA of Southeastern Massachusetts.
