Feast of the Blessed Sacrament

New Bedford’s Feast of the Blessed Sacrament will run from Thursday, July 30, through Sunday, Aug. 2, at Madeira Field. The coveted event showcases Portuguese and Madeiran heritage and attracts visitors from the U.S. and beyond.
Festivities begin Thursday, July 30, 6 to 11:30 p.m; Friday, July 31, 5 to 11:30 p.m.; Saturday, Aug, 1, noon to 11:30 p.m.; Sunday, Aug, 2, noon to 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
The annual four-day celebration features live music, Portuguese cuisine, carnival rides, cultural displays, and activities for all ages. Saturday’s Family Fun Day includes free meals for children under 12 from noon to 4 p.m. and discounted meals for seniors. Find the full schedule on the website.
Sunday’s parade steps off at 2 p.m. at Brooklawn Park and travels to the festival grounds.
Through scholarships and vocational awards, the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament further supports local students while helping preserve Madeiran tradition for future generations.
