SnapLab: Photography Studio Sessions

SnapLab: Photography Studio Sessions meets Mondays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. from July 6 through July 27. The fee is $180 for members and $200 for non-members.

The four-week course introduces digital photography through guided instruction, studio sessions, and photo walks.

Session 1: Introduction to Photography
The course starts with the foundations of photography. A guided photo walk is included.

Session 2: Lighting and Creative Techniques
Lighting setups, still life, long-exposure techniques, and class exercises.

Session 3: Editing and Image Selection
Editing workflows, image selection, and post-processing tools.

Session 4: Portfolio and Showcase
Curate a collection of images for group critique and a casual gallery-style presentation.

Guided photo walks in New Bedford give students an opportunity to apply what they learn. A free community photo walk will be held on July 11 at noon at The Green Bean, 740 Purchase St., New Bedford.

Any camera may be used, including a DSLR, mirrorless camera, or smartphone. Film photography is not covered.

Instructor Philip Mondeau is a self-taught photographer with experience in photojournalism and fine art photography.
