PACE Food Center serves Greater New Bedford community

February 23

NEW BEDFORD — The PACE Community Food Center is open five days a week, serving free, nutritious staples and essential items to residents of the Greater New Bedford community.

The schedule is:

Monday, 10 am – 2 pm

Tuesday, 10 am – 2 pm

Wednesday, 10 am – 2 pm

Thursday, 2 pm – 7 pm

Friday, 10 am – 2 pm

The food bank serves residents of New Bedford, Dartmouth, Marion, Rochester, Mattapoisett, Fairhaven and Acushnet. Last year, it served over 10,000 individuals.   In addition, it offers emergency food assistance.

To sign up for the Food Center, go to: https://toapply.org/PACE

The Food Center  at 477 Park St. is set up as a grocery store where our customers can browse and select their groceries instead of relying on pre-prepared bags. With plenty of shelving and storage space, customers can choose from various food items when they visit.

The center receives donations from individuals, farms, and local businesses, and the Greater Boston Food Bank distributes them to clients. The center provides about a week’s worth of food, including shelf-stable, fresh, and frozen food items once per week.

Donations and volunteers are sought.  To learn more, go to:  https://paceinfo.org/programs/food-bank/
