DESCRIPTION:The Whitfield Manjiro Friendship Society plans a Cherry Blossom Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday\, May 3\, at the Whitfield Manjiro Friendship House. Admission is free. The event highlights Japanese culture and the hanami tradition\, featuring a mix of hands-on activities and demonstrations. \nActivities include ikebana\, origami\, and Japanese name writing. A kimono display and items for sale will also be available. \nAdditional features include an open house at the museum\, kamishibai storytelling\, folk music\, and a Shin Daiko taiko drumming performance. \nA Japanese bento box lunch is available for $20 and includes a drink and dessert. Reservations are required in advance.
