SUMMARY:Greater New Bedford Choral Society open rehearsals
DESCRIPTION:The Greater New Bedford Choral Society will hold open rehearsals on Wednesdays\, Sept. 9\, 16\, and 23 at 6:30 p.m. at First Unitarian Church in New Bedford. \nNo auditions are required. New singers can attend a rehearsal before deciding whether to join the chorus. Rehearsals run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. \nBrian Dean Sousa directs the group and includes singers from communities across southeastern Massachusetts. \nIts winter concert\, “Christmas Songs from Around the World\,” is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Sunday\, Dec. 6. The program will feature music from 11 countries in several languages. \nMore information and registration are available at gnbcs.org.

SUMMARY:Witches' Ball at First Unitarian Church
DESCRIPTION:Something wicked this way comes. The Witches’ Ball returns Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. with dancing\, music\, tarot readers\, mediums\, vendors\, and more. Costumes are encouraged. This is for guests ages 16 and older. \nNo alcohol or smoking is permitted. \nTickets are $15 in advance\, with a limited number available. Admission includes music and dancing. Tarot readings\, mediums\, and vendors are not included. Tickets will be $20 at the door\, available on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nProceeds from ticket sales support the Unitarian Universalist Society of New Bedford’s work promoting positive change in the community. \nThe event is accessible through the parking lot entrance on 8th Street. \nEBT\, WIC\, and ConnectorCare cardholders can receive free admission through the Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture program.
