DESCRIPTION:Curious Figure 3 will be on view during AHA! Night on Thursday\, May 14. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. \nThe reception is part of the citywide arts celebration. Galleries\, studios\, and cultural groups will present programs across downtown New Bedford. Visitors can stop in throughout the evening. \nThe exhibition features contemporary figurative work. Artists come from 38 cities across 21 states. The show reflects the ongoing role of the human figure in current art. It also connects national voices with the South Coast arts community. \nVisitors can include the exhibition as part of the AHA! Night art walk.

DESCRIPTION:The Siren Scene seeks submissions for Curious Figure 3. Theme is “Figure & Field: Interplay of Form\, Space\, and Story.” \nCurious Figure 3 is a juried figurative art exhibition. Show runs April 1 through May 31\, 2026\, at the Co+Creative Centre. \nArtists 18 and older living in the United States may apply. Work should explore the human figure in dialogue with space and story. \nCurated by Kat Knutsen and Joe Vaux. A printed catalogue will accompany the exhibition. \nAwards: \n\nJurors’ Choice Award — $2100 honorarium + two complimentary copies of the exhibition catalogue.\nExcellence in Craft Award — $200 + One complimentary copies of the exhibition catalogue.\nExcellence in Concept Award — $200 + One complimentary copies of the exhibition catalogue.\n\nThe submission period runs from Jan. 4 through Jan. 31\, 2025.
