Trees must be free of ornaments\, lights\, stands\, tinsel\, and plastic bags.\n\nSMART Program participants may place trees curbside on their regular trash day during the weeks of Jan. 5 and Jan. 12. Collection begins at 7 a.m. Pickup may change due to the weather.\n\nTrees may also be dropped off at the brush area of the Department of Public Works and Water Pollution Control Facility at 759 Russells Mills Rd. GNBCS is a non-audition SATB choir led by new musical director Brian Dean Sousa. \nA spring concert is planned for Sunday\, May 3\, at 3:30 p.m.\, honoring the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The program includes Randall Thompson’s “Frostiana” and Aaron Copland’s “Simple Gifts\,” along with spirituals and Americana favorites such as “Down in the River” and “Oh Susannah.” A few sing-alongs are also planned. \nBrian Dean Sousa brings experience in performance and education. He holds degrees from Westminster Choir College and James Madison University. His background includes fourteen years as organist and choir master at Saint Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in Charlottesville. He now lives in North Dartmouth.
