Riders will travel a 45-mile route through the South Coast\, starting at Damien’s Food Pantry and ending at Redmen Hall in Wareham. \nRegistration is $25 per person. Participants are entered into a door prize raffle\, and the first 100 riders to register receive a free “Full Throttle for Food” T-shirt. \nAfter the ride\, a barbecue lunch will be available for $15 for riders and passengers. The event also features raffles and a cash bar. \n

Eyre’s collection “Ishamel’s Violets” highlights the endangerment of whales\, drawing on her work monitoring marine life. Paccia\, a New Bedford poet\, explores the connections between humanity and nature in urban and ocean settings. \nElizabeth Sylvia will introduce the poets. Light refreshments will be served\, and the audience is invited to ask questions after the reading.

DESCRIPTION:Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management is reminding residents to keep pumpkins and cornstalks out of the trash this season. They can be left out for yard waste pickup\, dropped off at the Recycling Center\, or composted at home. \nUnpainted pumpkins and cornstalks are accepted with leaves and grass on the weekday after regular trash collection. They can also be brought to the Recycling Center on Shawmut Avenue\, open Monday\, Wednesday\, and Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. \nResidents can compost pumpkins and cornstalks in backyard bins with other food scraps and yard waste. DESCRIPTION:A five-week weaving course will be held Thursdays from Oct. 23 to Nov. 20. Classes run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Students will learn basic weaving on a rigid heddle loom and finish a handmade project such as a scarf\, table runner\, or placemats. \nLooms are available for a $10 rental fee paid at the first class.
