Markets typically last an hour and a half\, or less when food runs out\, which happens often. DESCRIPTION:Fix It Forward is back on Tuesday\, April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Church\, 169 Belleville Road in New Bedford. Registration is required.\n\nThe workshop teaches simple ways to repair and reuse at home. One session covers fabric dyeing\, with an introduction to natural and synthetic dyes. Attendees can bring a pre-washed clothing item or a small piece of fabric to try.\n\nA second session focuses on knife care and sharpening. Instruction includes how to sharpen kitchen knives and scissors\, along with tips for storage. Attendees can bring up to five items. Registration is not required.\n\nTwo knife sharpening kits will be given away.\n\nFix It Forward is a series centered on repair and reuse. The program is presented in partnership with the Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District\, New Bedford Free Public Library\, and the city’s Department of Community Services. Support also comes in part from the Art is Everywhere grant through the city’s Arts\, Culture and Tourism Fund\, with facilitation by New Bedford Creative at the New Bedford Economic Development Council.

Actors\, spoken-word artists\, musicians\, and dancers from the city’s Black and Brown communities are invited to help form a new ensemble centered on cultural storytelling.\n\nProgram reconnects with “The Studio\,” a youth theater initiative launched in 1997 that helped mentor a generation of local artists. Oversoul’s roots trace to Boston’s New African Company\, founded in 1968\, and to a broader tradition of Black performance in the United States.\n\nWorkshops focus on improvisation and collaboration\, with participants developing an original piece to be presented in May.\n\nSessions are held on Tuesdays from 8 to 10 p.m.\, Feb. 10 through May 5\, at 3rd Eye Unlimited\, 230 Union St.\n\nParticipants should bring a notebook and wear comfortable clothing and sneakers.

DESCRIPTION:WAREHAM — Damien’s Food Pantry provides food to residents of Bristol\, Plymouth and Barnstable counties on Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. \nIts mission is to help end hunger in the South Coast region of Massachusetts by providing food to individuals experiencing food insecurity\, promoting education and awareness about hunger in our community\, and providing information to our guests about other community resources. All are welcome. \nFirst-time visitors will need to provide information about their household. They are required to complete a short application\, show proof of residency\, and verify all occupants residing in the home. Verifications will be required annually. New applications are accepted Thursdays and Saturdays between 8-11:30 a.m. \nThe last shop of the day will start at 11:45 a.m.  Anyone arriving after 11:45 a.m. will receive a pre-packaged box of food. \nThe pantry will be closed Friday\, July 4- Monday\, July 7. \nThe organization makes food available to over 1\,200 households monthly.  If you or someone you know needs food\, please contact us.   The pantry is located at 242 Marion Road\, Wareham\, MA 02571.  Mailing Address: P.O. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer\, please phone the pantry at: 508-295-3486 and leave your name and phone number or apply online here.  \nThe opportunities range from food distribution\, stocking shelves to data entry and translation services.  Volunteers who work the backroom should be able to lift 25 pounds. If you are unable to physically volunteer at the pantry\, but would still like to help\, we have opportunities for remote activities. \nHere is more information about volunteer opportunities.   \nThe pantry depends on financial support\, volunteers and food donations from individuals\, corporations\, agencies\, and foundations to help feed the hungry.  Donations are tax deductible.
