DESCRIPTION:Dartmouth residents have several options for disposing of Christmas trees\, wreaths\, and holiday greenery after the season ends. \nReal Christmas Trees \nReal trees are chipped and reused as cover at the Crapo Hill Landfill. Trees must be free of ornaments\, lights\, stands\, tinsel\, and plastic bags.\n\nSMART Program participants may place trees curbside on their regular trash day during the weeks of Jan. 5 and Jan. 12. Collection begins at 7 a.m. Pickup may change due to the weather.\n\nTrees may also be dropped off at the brush area of the Department of Public Works and Water Pollution Control Facility at 759 Russells Mills Rd. A permit is required.\n\nThe site is open Monday\, Tuesday\, Thursday\, and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.\, and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The facility is closed on Wednesdays.\n\nArtificial Trees and Wreaths\nArtificial trees and wreaths may be reused\, shared\, or discarded.\n\nHoliday Collection Schedule\nThere will be no trash or recycling collection on Dec. 25\, 2025\, or Jan. 1\, 2026. Thursday routes will be collected on Friday during those weeks. \nFor more information\, visit the Dartmouth Recycling Facebook page\, the Solid Waste and Recycling Division page on the town website\, or call the Department of Public Works at 508-999-0740.
