He explores how the name “Buzzards Bay” came to be. Religious tensions involving Quakers\, Puritans\, and supporters of the Church of England play a role. British naval charts during the American Revolution later fixed the name.\n\nLunch options include baked stuffed chicken breast\, baked scrod\, or a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Tickets are $46 per person. Reservations and payment are due by June 8.\n\nFounded in 1974\, Descendants of Whaling Masters has more than 450 members across the country and beyond. His presentation is titled “Forty Ways You Can Do NASA Science — Or\, How I Almost Went to Jail.” He will explain how the public can join real research.\n\nNASA supports more than 40 citizen science teams. Volunteers analyze spacecraft data. They have helped find most known comets\, hundreds of exoplanets\, and a new type of aurora. Kuchner will discuss the challenges behind this work and how it grew.\n\nThe program also covers ways to join current projects. Videos of past Science Café talks are available on the group’s website.

The book highlights privately owned vessels that attacked British shipping across the Atlantic and along American coasts.
