The group formed in 2019 and focuses on traditional blues. \nThe collaboration grew out of Musselwhite’s longtime relationship with Stubbs. Musselwhite invited Stubbs to join his band in 2008. Their work together grew into a relationship built on mentorship and a shared appreciation for traditional blues. \nStubbs later brought the two acts together as a producer. Their collaboration connects generations of blues musicians while drawing on the music’s history and traditions.

DESCRIPTION:The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra’s South Coast Chamber Music Series will open its season with “Semiquincentennial\,” an all-American 250th celebration\, on Saturday\, Sept. 26\, at 3 p.m. at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church\, 124 Front St.\, Marion. Tickets are $35.\n\nWorks by John Corigliano\, Peter Schickele\, Missy Mazzoli and Amy Beach are showcased. Corigliano’s “STOMP” for solo violin opens the program\, followed by Schickele’s “American Dreams\,” Mazzoli’s “Lies You Can Believe In\,” and Beach’s Piano Quintet in F-sharp Minor.\n\nNBSO performers include concertmaster Emma Powell and violinist EmmaLee Holmes-Hicks\, violist Anna Griffis\, cellist Leo Eguchi\, and pianist Janice Weber.
