Philley will speak about her work at 6:30 p.m. \nWilliam Rotch Sr. was charged with treason four times by three governments from 1775 to 1795. A Quaker who opposed wars for independence and empire\, his life spans public success\, secret alliances\, and a reckoning with labels.

DESCRIPTION:UMass Dartmouth CVPA Campus Gallery presents Emma Kathleen Hepburn Ferrer’s first U.S. solo exhibition. The opening reception is Thursday\, Nov. 6\, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. An artist talk starts at 6 p.m. in Lecture Hall 153. Dr. Nina Levent and gallery director Viera Levitt will introduce Ferrer. Music faculty Jing Wang and Will Riley will perform. Light refreshments will be served. \nFerrer showcases the unicorn as a symbol of liberty\, purity\, and hope. Her work draws on “The Unicorn Tapestries” at The Met Cloisters and European myths. Paintings show the unicorn as a spiritual being and a figure of sovereignty and sacrifice. \nHer 2025 show “The Scapegoat” also explored ritual and the sacred. Works like The Annunciation of the Unicorn and The Chosen One universally reimagine biblical imagery.

I Return With a Feeling of Us brings together a wide range of his personal and commercial work—including deeply felt observations of racial injustice and economic inequities\, innovative fashion photography that helped redefine African-American aesthetics and representation\, and masterful\, revelatory portraits of celebrities and fellow creatives for which he is best known.
