SUMMARY:Damien's Food Pantry open twice weekly
DESCRIPTION:WAREHAM — Damien’s Food Pantry provides food to residents of Bristol\, Plymouth and Barnstable counties on Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. \nIts mission is to help end hunger in the South Coast region of Massachusetts by providing food to individuals experiencing food insecurity\, promoting education and awareness about hunger in our community\, and providing information to our guests about other community resources. All are welcome. \nFirst-time visitors will need to provide information about their household. They are required to complete a short application\, show proof of residency\, and verify all occupants residing in the home. Verifications will be required annually. New applications are accepted Thursdays and Saturdays between 8-11:30 a.m. \nThe last shop of the day will start at 11:45 a.m.  Anyone arriving after 11:45 a.m. will receive a pre-packaged box of food. \nThe pantry will be closed Friday\, July 4- Monday\, July 7. \nThe organization makes food available to over 1\,200 households monthly.  If you or someone you know needs food\, please contact us.   The pantry is located at 242 Marion Road\, Wareham\, MA 02571.  Mailing Address: P.O. Box 730\, East Wareham\, MA 02538.  Phone: 508-295-3486 / Fax: 508-299-6582. \nVolunteers are often sought. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer\, please phone the pantry at: 508-295-3486 and leave your name and phone number or apply online here.  \nThe opportunities range from food distribution\, stocking shelves to data entry and translation services.  Volunteers who work the backroom should be able to lift 25 pounds. If you are unable to physically volunteer at the pantry\, but would still like to help\, we have opportunities for remote activities. \nHere is more information about volunteer opportunities.   \nThe pantry depends on financial support\, volunteers and food donations from individuals\, corporations\, agencies\, and foundations to help feed the hungry.  Donations are tax deductible.

DESCRIPTION:Earth Day Volunteer Day at Frogfoot Farm is set for Saturday\, April 25\, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.\n\nThe program focuses on caring for native plant hedgerows. This work supports pollinators\, improves habitat\, and strengthens the farm’s ecosystem.\n\nVolunteers of all ages are welcome to work with staff. No experience is necessary.\n\nBring weather-appropriate clothing\, closed-toe shoes\, water\, and snacks.\n\nThis year’s event falls during National Volunteer Week and the United Nations International Year of Volunteers. It also marks the International Year of the Woman Farmer.\n\nRegistration is available online. The event is hosted by Marion Institute.

SUMMARY:PACE Food Center serves Greater New Bedford community
DESCRIPTION:NEW BEDFORD — The PACE Community Food Center is open five days a week\, serving free\, nutritious staples and essential items to residents of the Greater New Bedford community. \nThe schedule is: \nMonday\, 10 am – 2 pm \nTuesday\, 10 am – 2 pm \nWednesday\, 10 am – 2 pm \nThursday\, 2 pm – 7 pm \nFriday\, 10 am – 2 pm \nThe food bank serves residents of New Bedford\, Dartmouth\, Marion\, Rochester\, Mattapoisett\, Fairhaven and Acushnet. Last year\, it served over 10\,000 individuals.   In addition\, it offers emergency food assistance. \nTo sign up for the Food Center\, go to: https://toapply.org/PACE \nThe Food Center  at 477 Park St. is set up as a grocery store where our customers can browse and select their groceries instead of relying on pre-prepared bags. With plenty of shelving and storage space\, customers can choose from various food items when they visit. \nThe center receives donations from individuals\, farms\, and local businesses\, and the Greater Boston Food Bank distributes them to clients.
