SUMMARY:Weekly Targeted Ground Spraying for Mosquitoes
DESCRIPTION:Weekly mosquito spraying in New Bedford begins June 11 and continues through September. Spraying will be done on Thursdays between 2 a.m. and sunrise\, weather permitting.\n\nCrews will target parks and public event spaces\, including Buttonwood Park\, Brooklawn Park\, Fort Taber\, and several downtown locations.\n\nResidents near spray areas may want to close windows overnight before scheduled treatments. Rain or holidays may shift spraying to Friday mornings.\n\nSpraying can also be requested for private property through the Bristol County Mosquito Control Project between June and September.\n\nHealth officials recommend using insect repellent\, wearing long sleeves outdoors at dusk\, and draining standing water around homes to help reduce mosquito activity.
