SUMMARY:Community Preservation Act workshop
DESCRIPTION:New Bedford will hold a Community Preservation Act application workshop on Thursday\, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. on the third floor of the New Bedford Free Public Library\, 613 Pleasant St.\n\nThe Community Preservation Committee will review changes to the fiscal 2027 application process and answer questions. About $1.9 million will be available for eligible projects involving open space\, recreation\, community housing\, and historic preservation.\n\nSince voters adopted the Community Preservation Act in 2014\, New Bedford has awarded more than $16.9 million through 166 grants supporting 97 projects. Those grants have helped leverage more than $12.9 million in additional private\, state\, and federal funding.\n\nApplication materials will be available on the city’s Community Preservation website on Sept. 4.\n\nSpanish and Portuguese translation services are available by request. Contact CPA Manager Jessica Bailey at CPA@newbedford-ma.gov at least 48 hours before the workshop.
