Herrup\, a senior lecturer in Suffolk University’s Communications\, Journalism and Media Department\, award-winning filmmaker\, and experienced film festival programmer. Herrup holds a Ph.D. in radio-TV-film from the University of Texas at Austin.

The unconventional conservation project helps restore plants and wildlife to land once heavily treated with chemicals\, offering a striking look at what can happen when nature is given room to recover.

DESCRIPTION:Ink & Identity: Printmaking with Adrian Tió is scheduled for Wednesdays\, May 27 to June 17  from 5 to 8 p.m. The fee is $250. \nMaster printmaker Adrian Tió leads the four-week workshop. He’s a retired fine arts professor with more than 50 years of experience. Tió’s work is displayed in major collections\, including the Andy Warhol Foundation and the White House. \nClass work draws inspiration from the exhibition “RESISTANCE: Cultural and Political Narratives in Mexican Art.” It looks at how artists use printmaking to explore identity\, memory\, and social ideas. \nStudents will create designs by carving linoleum blocks and printing them. The work will come together in a final group composition. \nThe workshop is open to beginners and practicing artists. No experience is required.

DESCRIPTION:Spring Into Making at the New Bedford Art Museum runs Monday\, April 20\, through Friday\, April 24\, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. \nThe April vacation program invites students in grades 1 through 6 to explore art through hands-on projects and citywide discovery. Students work in drawing\, painting\, mixed media\, clay and digital illustration. iPads are provided to learn Procreate and create finished digital artwork alongside traditional pieces. \nThe week includes scavenger hunts in the museum and local library\, along with walking field trips to nearby cultural sites. These activities help students observe\, gather ideas\, and turn inspiration into original artwork. Tuesday and Thursday feature time in the ceramics studio\, where students learn hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques using professional tools. \nEach day follows a different theme\, from exploring exhibits and character design to storytelling\, light and color. Students build skills across multiple media and complete projects they can take home. \nProgram cost is $315 for members and $350 for nonmembers.
