DESCRIPTION:The M.O. FOOD = L.I.F.E. Food Pantry\, operated by M.O. L.I.F.E.\, Inc.\, helps feed neighbors across Greater New Bedford. It is open Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The pantry is located outside the building on the corner of Pleasant and Middle streets. \nGroceries are available to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Hundreds of people are served each month. Program volunteers also help stock shelves and assist with distribution. The effort is supported through a partnership with United Way of Greater New Bedford. \nVolunteering hours are from 10:00am to 1:00pm. For additional information\, please call 508-992-0122.

The program is designed for young children and caregivers. \nThe program begins with a read-aloud and an author talk. Families then head upstairs to the Marion Natural History Museum to explore vernal pools and their ecosystems. \nSupport comes from the Mass Book Awards Speakers Bureau and the Massachusetts Center for the Book. \nSweeney’s work blends story\, art\, and science. Other titles include “Monument Maker” and “Apart\, Together. Do Bees Pee?” is due out in June 2026.

DESCRIPTION:A felt robin hand-stitching workshop runs May 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. The class fee is $45. Participants will create a life-size felt robin using blanket stitches\, running stitches\, sequins\, and French knots. Beginners are welcome\, and instruction is available as needed. \nEach student will complete a three-dimensional bird to take home. The included pattern can also be adapted to create other bird styles. All materials are included.

DESCRIPTION:Ink & Identity: Printmaking with Adrian Tió is scheduled for Wednesdays\, May 27 to June 17  from 5 to 8 p.m. The fee is $250. \nMaster printmaker Adrian Tió leads the four-week workshop. He’s a retired fine arts professor with more than 50 years of experience. Tió’s work is displayed in major collections\, including the Andy Warhol Foundation and the White House. \nClass work draws inspiration from the exhibition “RESISTANCE: Cultural and Political Narratives in Mexican Art.” It looks at how artists use printmaking to explore identity\, memory\, and social ideas. \nStudents will create designs by carving linoleum blocks and printing them. The work will come together in a final group composition. \nThe workshop is open to beginners and practicing artists. No experience is required.
