Volunteer for the 2023 Buzzards Bay Swim

The Buzzards Bay Swim is a one-of-a-kind scenic point-to-point open water swim across outer New Bedford Harbor. Assisted by a robust safety patrol, swimmers navigate 1.2 miles through the harbor and channel. At the Fairhaven finish line, swimmers are welcomed with a beach party featuring a live steel drum band, pancakes cooked to order, gourmet coffee, and local beer.
Volunteer roles are greatly varied, from Check-In and Merchandise Distribution to Kayak Safety Escorts and Lifeguards. When registering, please denote your volunteer position preferences from the following list:
- Check-in (Start Line only)
- Chute team (counting swimmers as they enter/exit the water)
- Parking team
- tent and banner set up
- Merchandise/swag bag distribution
- Safety & kayak squad
- Parking
