Veterans Appreciation Weekend at Fort Taber-Fort Rodman Museum

The 20th annual veterans appreciation weekend is scheduled Saturday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Nov. 12 at the Fort Taber-Fort Rodman Museum.

To honor our veterans, the museum will commemorate Armistice/Veterans Day weekend with special presentations on Sat., Nov. 11 and Sun., Nov. 12.

On Sat., Nov. 11 the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At 11 a.m, Saturday, Nov. 11, a bells of peace ceremony will commemorate the signing of the armistice that ended World War I. The armistice was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.

On Sun., Nov. 12, the museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m.

 At 2 p.m., a presentation about the 26th Yankee Division in the Great War will be presented by Joseph Yukna, co-founder of the Cape Cod Military Museum.

 Visitors to the museum can also view the revamped display about Exercise Tiger, a rehearsal for the D-Day invasion that went tragically wrong, claiming the lives of nearly 1,000 American servicemen.

Admission to the museum and all events is free. Refreshments will be available both days.
