Under the Sheltering Sky: Opening Reception

Under the Sheltering Sky at the New Bedford Art Museum features prints from the New Bedford Free Public Library’s first edition set of John J. Audubon’s Birds of America, Wardell Milan’s C-print photograph titled, Miss Floral Pageant and Great Egret, Black Necked-Stilt and Carolina Parakeets, illustrations by Brooklyn-based artist Adrian Brandon. As a part DATMA’s summer programming around the theme of shelter, the rarely shown Audubon prints will all contain birds in their nests.
The exhibit is on view August 8-Oct. 8, with a special opening reception from 5-7 p.m. on Aug. 10.
