In 1972, Steve Paxton started Contact Improvisation, an art form in which bodies contact each other and communicate through touch. A spontaneous relational dance is created by giving and supporting weight, coordinating with gravity and momentum. In the form, touching and being touched are conceptualized as concurrent exchanges.
Aaron Brandes and Gabrielle Revlock explore the myriad qualities of touch in this duet that explores new pathways of human communication.
