The Underwater Carnival

July 13 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Integrating marine science, animation, and original music, The Underwater Carnival provides a fun, immersive experience for families to explore and compare whale species’ behaviors and characteristics. Visitors first predict which whale species will exhibit a specific aspect, such as fastest swimmer, deepest dive, or breaching frequency. Then, they watch and listen to a short, animated, musical video simulation that compares two selected species of whales. A small ocean-themed prize is awarded for accurate predictions on two simulations. This activity will be under the large tent across from the museum’s front entrance. Also available under the tent will be the museum’s inflatable whale.
