Breaking the Silence: Sex Trafficking and Domestic Violence Awareness

February 28 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm

A Stop Trafficking event will take place at UMass Dartmouth’s main auditorium sponsored by the College of Nursing & Health Sciences. All are welcome.

Schedule:

  • 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Breaking the silence … because it is happening now
  • 10 a.m – 12 p.m. – Sex trafficking with special agent John Heaton of Homeland Security
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m. – Sexual assault advocacy with Victoria DaPonte, BSN, RN, SE Regional SANE coordinator
  • 1:30-2:30 p.m. – Domestic violence with Hassan Souto LSW, manager of Education & Outreach for the Women’s Center of New Bedford
