Salty Story at The Mattapoisett Museum
October 21 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Join Mattapoisett Museum Curator Connor Gaudet to learn about the saltworks that lined Mattapoisett beaches. An early industry in Mattapoisett, the “Salt Works,” produced vast quantities of salt created from seawater.
Gaudet will describe the process it took to create salt from seawater as the group explores the sites of former saltworks starting at the Munro Preserve at the corner of Water St. and Main St.
This tour is part of the Mattapoisett Museum’s “Hidden Histories & Invisible Industries Walking Tours,” funded through a generous grant from the Mass Cultural Council. These tours are free and open to the public.
