Sailors’ Series Lecture with Author Will Sofrin

May 10 @ 6:00 pm

This year’s Sailors’ Series lecture includes a narrated presentation of the new novel “All Hands on Deck, A Modern-day High Seas Adventure to the Far Side of the World!” by Will Sofrin.

Will Sofrin is a master shipwright and author of the task crew that transported The Rose (the replica eighteenth-century warship purchased to appear in the 2003 film Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World) from Newport, Rhode Island, to Hollywood, California. Sofrin’s story is one about human relationships and survival. The presentation will feature a curated selection of film footage and photographs from the passage, and afterward, Sofrin will offer a Q&A.

Tickets are $10 for members and $20 for non-members.
