Public comment period on environmental impact statement for Beacon Wind Project

BOEM published a Notice of Intent (NOI) to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Beacon Wind Project, which will be located approximately 20 miles south of Nantucket. The NOI is the first step in the multi-year EIS, which must be completed before Beacon Wind can begin construction. A 30-day public comment period for the NOI ends July 31 and includes four public meetings, one of which will be held at UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, July 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Market Place Dining Hall. The address is 285 Old Westport Road, Dartmouth.
