Pasteis de Nata Throwdown
February 2 - February 28

During February, local bakeries in Fall River and New Bedford will participate in the first-ever “Pasteis de Nata Throwdown”, a “friendly food fight” spearheaded by regional partners who promote the culinary cultures and attributes of both cities; New Bedford Food Tours, Destination New Bedford, and Viva Fall River.
The goal of this friendly competition is to help spread awareness of all the great bakeries, cafes, and markets in both cities and help to generate additional or new business during the tourism off-season here in New England. No matter who wins, we all win!
The Nata Throwdown is free for both bakeries and consumers to participate in (other than the pastry cost.) Consumers can vote for any bakeries that make the tart in either city; voting will be available online at nbfoodtours.com/throwdown and via a mail-in postcard available at participating bakery’s select locations. In Fall River, cards will be available at the Viva Fall River Pop-Up Shop at 333 S Main St., City Hall, and the Fall River Public Library.
