Opening of the Bay Fundraiser

The Opening of the Bay, celebrating 25 years of CBC, is being held Saturday, May 6, from 6 –10 p.m. This year’s event will be at Kilburn Mill, overlooking Clarks Cove and CBC’s headquarters. Guests will enjoy dinner, dancing, and a silent auction. All proceeds from the celebration will provide scholarships for Greater New Bedford youth for CBC’s Summer Youth Sailing Program.
CBC’s flagship program is the Summer Youth Sailing. It uses boating as a tool to help instill important life lessons such as integrity, sound judgment, and teamwork. 80% of the children attending CBC’s program are from economically disadvantaged families who cannot pay. The Opening of the Bay fundraiser enables these students to participate free of charge.
