Open House at the Mansions

“Open House” day allows visitors to explore two of New Bedford’s most historic properties; the James Arnold Mansion (JAMI) and Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden Museum. The two mansions connected by County St. and marriage (James Arnold married Sarah Rotch, daughter of William Rotch Jr.) are co-hosting a free day of activities.
RJD features tours of the house, lemonade, and lawn games. At the Arnold Mansion, visitors will tour the house and grounds, learn about our historic trees, and enjoy fruit punch and cookies. Visitors can learn more about DATMA’s Shelter 2023 programming and public art exhibitions at each site, and visit our public art installations nearby downtown.
